Background
Andrew is a trained Art Psychotherapist, UK licensed and registered, who trained at Goldsmiths College University of London UK in 2002. He is a registered private practitioner with the British Association of Art Therapists (BAAT) and is licensed by the Health Care Professions Council, UK (HCPC).
Andrew is also a registered clinical supervisor with BAAT and an approved clinical supervisor for PTUK. He has completed a research postgraduate study at the University of London in 2019. Andrew is an art psychotherapist based in Dorset and Hampshire and provides art therapy services to children, adolescents, and adults.
Andrew is an experienced conference speaker and workshop facilitator and is currently undertaking research studies on developing effective therapeutic programmes for vulnerable populations. He has published an article with the International Journal of Art Therapy, investigating the impact of expressive psychotherapy with autistic people: Assessing communication abilities and emotional regulation strategies. Andrew’s clinical skills and expertise are informed by psychodynamic theory, neuroscience, mentalization-based therapy, mindful approaches, CBT, DBT and solution-focused approaches. As well as play therapy and sand tray therapy. He is a trained CATT practitioner for PTSD and CPTSD.
