Welcome to Mindscape Therapy & Consultancy, a private psychotherapy practice based in Bournemouth.

Integrative Psychotherapy for Young People and Adults

I provide integrative psychotherapy for young people and adults across Dorset and Hampshire, drawing on verbal, creative and expressive approaches according to each person’s needs.

As an HCPC Registered Art Psychotherapist with over 20 years’ experience, I also offer art therapy in Dorset and Hampshire, alongside clinical supervision for practitioners working with children, young people and adults.

My approach is trauma-informed and neurodiversity-affirming, providing a safe, supportive and non-judgemental space to explore difficulties, develop greater understanding and find ways of moving forward.

About Me

I am an HCPC Registered Art Psychotherapist and Clinical Supervisor with over 20 years’ experience working therapeutically in the UK, Singapore and the UAE.

My approach is integrative and tailored to the individual rather than based on a single therapeutic model. I draw on a range of approaches and therapeutic skills, including psychotherapy, mindfulness and compassion-based approaches, CBT and DBT skills, and solution-focused work.

I use both verbal and creative approaches where appropriate. Creative methods can provide additional ways of exploring experiences, developing emotional awareness and finding strategies that support emotional regulation, resilience and personal growth.

My work is trauma-informed and neurodiversity-affirming, with an emphasis on understanding the individual and working collaboratively at a pace that feels appropriate.

Areas I Can Help With

I work with young people and adults experiencing a range of difficulties, including:

  • Anxiety and stress
  • Emotional regulation and feeling overwhelmed
  • Relationship difficulties
  • Confidence and self-esteem
  • Life changes and transitions
  • Difficult or traumatic experiences
  • Neurodiversity and emotional wellbeing
  • Personal development and self-understanding

Experience and Research

I qualified in Art Psychotherapy from Goldsmiths College in 2002 and am a Fellow of the Royal Society of Arts (FRSA). I completed an MRes in Educational and Social Research at UCL in 2019.

My research has explored neurodiversity, communication and emotional regulation and has been published in the International Journal of Art Therapy.

I am also particularly interested in the relationship between mind and body, and how creative and embodied approaches can support people working through difficult or traumatic experiences.

Clinical Supervision

Alongside therapy, I provide clinical supervision for practitioners working with children, young people and adults.

My supervision is reflective, supportive and practice-focused, with attention to clinical thinking, therapeutic relationships, safeguarding, emotional impact and professional development.

I provide supervision for psychotherapists, counsellors, art psychotherapists, creative arts therapists and play therapists.

Supervision is available face-to-face in Bournemouth or online.

Creative and Art Therapy Approaches

As an experienced Art Psychotherapist, I can incorporate creative approaches into therapy where appropriate.

These may include art-making, sand tray and other expressive approaches. Creative methods can offer alternative ways of communicating and exploring experiences, particularly when it is difficult to put thoughts or feelings into words.

Art therapy is not necessarily about being artistic or producing something that looks good. The focus is on the process of exploring and expressing experiences in a way that feels meaningful to the individual.

You can find out more about my approach to art therapy in Dorset and Hampshire in the Art Therapy section of the website.
